CAPE MAY – Picking up what’s needed for that cocktail with brunch, buying a bottle of wine before going to the BYOB restaurant, or just shopping at the local package store all can start earlier on Sunday this year. That’s due to an ordinance change adopted by Cape May City Council April 17.
The amendment allows alcoholic beverages to be sold for off-site consumption starting at 10 a.m. on Sundays. The previous requirement had been noon.
An exception for premises offering on-site consumption under a plenary retail consumption license remains unchanged, with alcoholic beverage sales allowed after 8 a.m.
