Shared Services to Build Recreation Facility OK’d

By Camille Sailer

SEA ISLE CITY – Sea Isle City Council passed a resolution Jan. 28, authorizing a shared services agreement with Ocean City.
Sea Isle City Business Administrator George Savastano explained that the agreement would allow Sea Isle City to utilize Ocean City services on the project to build the planned new recreation facility. He added that the agreement is similar to the one the city had with Ocean City when City Hall was built.
The agreement includes project and construction management services, and would save the city money. The city is starting work on the design for the facility, which will be located at the site of the former elementary school on Central Avenue.
