NORTH WILDWOOD – City Council passed two resolutions that allow some relief during a special event from laws regarding hours for outdoor music and indoor service of alcohol in the Seaport Pier Redevelopment Area.

First, SPTWO, which holds the concessionaire license for the Seaport Pier Redevelopment Area, 2201 Boardwalk, asked the city to grant permission to have music until midnight every Thursday through Sunday beginning May 25 and running through Sept. 24.

Previously, the city granted permission to have music until midnight on Friday and Saturday nights, rather than requiring it to end at 11 p.m.

North Wildwood City Council passed a resolution, May 16, which will allow outdoor music to play until 11 p.m. on Thursday and Sunday, and until midnight on Friday, Saturday, and holidays.

A second resolution addressed the request to be able to serve alcohol until 3 a.m., rather than 1 a.m., during a special event scheduled for June 15 through June 18.

The resolution says all outdoor sales and service of alcohol shall end by 12:30 a.m. and outdoor consumption shall end by 1 a.m. Any activities at the Seaport Pier taking place between 1 a.m. and 3 a.m. shall be indoors.

The sales and service issues are regulated by the state Division of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) and the exceptions granted under the resolution are subject to approval of the extension of hours under the concessionaire permit by the ABC.

If the state does not grant the requested extension, the conditions under the North Wildwood resolution become null and void.
