SEA ISLE CITY – Sea Isle City Council authorized the advertisement of bids for the construction of the city’s long-awaited community center April 25. In February, the city made an award for site preparation at the location of the former public school building.
Concept plans for the new center were discussed at an August 2022 council meeting where Mayor Leonard Desiderio said the city was looking forward to a center that will meet the community’s recreational and civic needs.
A document on the city’s website shows the multipurpose uses planned for the facility, including a gym, fitness room, meeting rooms and art room space.
Now, the facility is moving closer to reality with the advertising for bids. In February, Desiderio said he estimated the new community center would have a grand opening in early to mid-2025.
