SEA ISLE CITY – City Council assembled for a special meeting May 5, supplementing its two regular meetings in May to consider a resolution instituting a grace period extension for payment of second-quarter property taxes.
Sea Isle City, along with other county municipalities, approved this resolution. There were no public comments.
The extension changes the due date for property tax payment from May 1 to June 1, with a related 10-day grace period for payment or payment on the next business day if such date falls on a weekend. This action was made possible by an implementing executive order signed by Gov. Phil Murphy May 9 and re-issued April 28 because of economic hardships from the COVID-19 crisis.
