VILLAS – There is a lot of activity at the Lower Township Department of Parks and Recreation recently and it goes beyond the department’s packed program of fall and winter programs.
Construction is underway to make the township’s Paul R. Will Recreation Complex more accessible and bring the facility compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
Renovations such as ADA complaint curb cuts, enlarged doorways and construction of an additional accessible restroom is being done with grant funding in the amount of $238,495 from Small Cities Public Facilities Funds which is part of the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs.
Additional to the Small Cities grant, the township was awarded $36,260 from the Cape May County Open Space Program in the amount of $36,260. The township plans to use those funds to install ADA accessible playground equipment.
Despite the playground being closed during the reconstruction, the recreation center will be open during the project.
Cape May – Governor Murphy says he doesn't know anything about the drones and doesn't know what they are doing but he does know that they are not dangerous. Does anyone feel better now?
