CAPE MAY – The agenda for the Nov. 18 Cape May City Council meeting called for a public hearing and final vote on the city’s new ordinance to restrict the use of plastic bags and packaging. No vote was taken, and the ordinance was carried over to the Dec. 3 meeting.
Council member Zack Mullock expressed concern that the delays in adopting a final ordinance may hurt businesses that need to order materials for summer 2020.
Council allowed members of the public to speak on the issue, but comments were few.

The public hearing on the ordinance will resume at the December meeting, when a final vote is likely.
