Plans to Improve Boat Ramp

BEESLEY’S POINT – Committee member Hobie Young informed Mayor Richard Palombo and others Oct. 8 that “I’ve been receiving numerous phone calls during the last few weeks about the ‘dismal’ condition of the boat ramp at Beesley’s Point. The general consensus is that if we are not maintaining it properly, why are we charging to use it? Especially since Upper’s beaches are free with no beach tags required to visit them. At low tide, especially, there are deep holes, the ramp is too short, and it’s a major hazard in its current state.” Business Administrator Scott Morgan said the township is planning an “EZ-dock” at the location and will also be replacing the rotted pilings with new ones, as the area gets ready for the new Great Egg Harbor Bridge completion.
