PETERSBURG – Upper Township Committee authorized the municipality to be a project sponsor for the Village Pharmacy in Marmora, to serve as a medical disposal drop box site June 10.
Similar drop boxes are located at police stations throughout the county rather than a commercial location.
“It is a proven fact that this type of medical disposal gets unused and unneeded drugs, including opiates, out of people’s homes and off the streets where they can fall into the wrong hands,” said Mayor Richard Palombo, who is also a pharmacist. “We’re very happy to participate in this program.”
