NORTH WILDWOOD – Safety concerns propelled North Wildwood City Council to amend parking hours on Olde New Jersey Avenue.
Introduced June 18, the amended ordinance stated no person or vehicle may park “beginning on the Friday of Memorial Day Weekend until the Sunday of Labor Day Weekend, from 9 p.m. Friday until 6 a.m. Saturday, and from 9 p.m. Saturday until 6 a.m. Sunday.”
Designated areas include between First and Spruce avenues. Police Chief Matthew Gallagher said Uber and cab drivers may only drop-off and pick-up in the designated area during prescribed hours.
However, after further discussions with police, council amended the hours to 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., Friday through Sunday. The amendment passed July 16.
