OC Contracts with Pineland for Waste Management

Gold Medal Environmental

By Herald Staff

OCEAN CITY – City Council approved a new trash collection contract with Pineland Construction, a Sea Isle City based company, The Press of Atlantic City reported. The move ends the city’s contract with Gold Medal Environmental.
The new contract with Pineland will cost $1.95 million, a $300,000 decrease from the city’s current spending.
There are not any anticipated changes in service.
The city faced the possibility of disruptions to trash collection earlier this spring, along with other shore towns. The company asked for $1.4 million more, but the city only paid Gold Medal another $770,000, according to The Press.
