Night Out Against Crime Proves Fun, Wet

NORTH WILDWOOD — National Night Out Against Crime was marked throughout Cape May County on Aug. 5 with citizens and police officers meeting over fun events, dunking tanks, and food like hot dogs and soda. Some celebrations, however, got rained on, which shortened the festivities.
In this city, the ever-popular dunk tank afforded residents the opportunity to toss the ball and force officers, like Capt. Robert Caruso of North Wildwood Police Department, to get soaked, all for fun, and in the name of community relations.
Banks and other businesses put their energies into helping make the evening a success.
The idea of the National Night Out Against Crime was to have neighbors light their porch lights and gather together to better unify neighborhoods and get to know the law enforcement officers
