NORTH WILDWOOD – North Wildwood is preparing for what residents and officials hope will be a big offseason March 14. The city, known for its Irish bars and spirit, will host a St. Patrick’s Day parade that day, at 11:30 a.m.
According to North Wildwood Mayor Patrick Rosenello, the parade will begin at City Hall and end in the entertainment district.
“The parade includes several pipe-and-drum bands, a large contingent of Irish social organizations, as well as a multitude of other groups,” Rosenello said.
Bob Finn, a World War II veteran, and longtime North Wildwood resident, was selected as grand marshal of the parade but died Feb. 21, at age 93. The mayor said his family will be present in his memory.
“Every year, we try to honor a person of Irish-American heritage who has contributed to the city in some way,” Rosenello said.
That night, the Erin Express, a charity St. Paddy’s day bar crawl, is to take place.
