COURT HOUSE– On Wed. Nov. 25, officers from the Middle Township Police Department, distributed holiday turkey dinners for some forty families in the township. Previously, names of needy families were gathered from local churches and civic groups, identifying those who may not have the means to provide for a thanksgiving meal.
The operation, spearheaded by Lt. Edwards, was funded by members of the police department, who went out and purchased forty turkeys, then put together a care package with each turkey, and delivered them throughout the day.
Officers commented that they wanted to do something to give back to those in the community, who were less fortunate during the holiday season.
