COURT HOUSE – Middle Township Committee reintroduced an ordinance amendment Sept. 6 that clarifies the criteria that must be met in order for a campground structure to be considered an appropriate temporary structure. The goal is to define the “types of non-permanent structures which are permissible as additions within campgrounds.”
Speaking of those who add on to campground structures, Mayor Timothy Donohue said, “We are seeking to allow the right of enjoyment of those additions without allowing the creation of permanent structures.”
The ordinance is a reaction to the fact that some campground users have increasingly engaged in the construction of permanent additions which violate the intent of the municipal code.
The ordinance will come up for a required public hearing and potential vote to adopt at the Township Committee meeting on Oct. 3.
