Middle GOP Forms Republican Club

By Press Release

COURT HOUSE – Middle Township Republican Leader Ed Taylor announced today the formation of a new Republican Club of Middle Township.
“The positive changes we’ve seen in our Party, at the local, county and state levels, have grass root Republicans itching to get involved.” Taylor explained. “We invite all Middle Township Republicans to join the club and become a part of our historic movement to bring leaner, cleaner, more open and responsive government to Middle Township.”
Taylor has appointed Edgewood resident Mark Collins as the Club’s President. “It is a great honor to accept the role of President of the Middle Township Republican Club.” Collins declared. “Our club will be open to anyone who wishes to help promote Republican principles, policies, and candidates. The people deserve a limited government, lower taxes, and responsible spending. We expect to be a force on the ground this Fall to propel Tim Donohue to victory in the race for Middle Township Committee and support the entire Republican ticket in Cape May County. We will hold monthly meetings to hear from elected officials and debate issues in hopes of improving Middle Township. As President, I will look to expand the Republican Club into volunteer efforts and work on addressing needs throughout our Township. We’re excited to start our membership drive and expect to announce a June Meeting date shortly.”
Taylor also appointed Jim Norris of Rio Grande as the Club’s Secretary. “Jim is our youngest Middle Township GOP Committeeperson and brings a ton of enthusiasm to the task.” Taylor said. “He represents a growing number of college-age young Republicans eager to get involved and become part of the movement for real change at the local level.”
Dan Lockwood, the lone Republican on the Township’s three member Committee praised the move by Taylor. “Everywhere I go, voters are excited by Tim Donohue’s candidacy and the prospect for positive changes that will lead to better government for Middle Township.” Lockwood proclaimed. ” I need Tim with me on Township Committee to move our pro-taxpayer agenda forward. Leader Taylor’s initiative to form this new Republican Club couldn’t have come at a better time. I invite all concerned citizens to get involved.”
Republican Township Committee candidate Tim Donohue, who competed with Mark Collins for the nomination, praised Mark for bringing Republicans together. “Mark Collins showed class and maturity beyond his years in helping to bring the Middle Township Republicans together after a fair and transparent nomination process.” Donohue declared. “The people of Middle Township know we can do better and they want to get involved. I’m confident that under the leadership of Mark Collins and Jim Norris, the Republican Club will offer voters a real opportunity to learn the issues and become part of a movement that can build a better future for ourselves and our families right here in our hometown.”
