Mayor: Cut Non-resident Complaints

SEA ISLE CITY – At the April 14 Council meeting, Sea Isle City Mayor Leonard Desiderio reiterated various virus-related prohibitions per executive and municipal orders, including six-feet social distancing and avoiding non-essential travel.
Desiderio referred to related notices he posted on the city’s website, urging everyone to reduce complaints and insults of non-resident property owners who “may be coming for understandable reasons you don’t know,” despite out-of-state license plates. The mayor also said he has no authority or power to “keep out second property owners or visitors,” echoing sentiments expressed by other shore town mayors, such as in Wildwood Crest and Ocean City.
