CAPE MAY – State statutes require that municipalities reexamine their master plans every 10 years. For the City of Cape May, the last reexamination was March 13, 2009, exactly 10 years ago.
The periodic master plan reexamination was meant to ensure that the adopted policies on the municipality in its master plan still appropriately address issues and trends that may have arisen since the last review.
Cape May reached the end of its 10-year window allotted to municipalities. The Planning Board meeting to consider the Reexamination Report was scheduled for March 12.
At the March 5 City Council meeting, some Cape May residents raised concern that they had not had access to the 298-page report until that week, leaving them little time to read and distill the material.
The draft report described a “participatory process that engaged local residents, business owners and stakeholders.” The Planning Board process started in January 2018, according to the schedule incorporated in the report.
Cape May – Governor Murphy says he doesn't know anything about the drones and doesn't know what they are doing but he does know that they are not dangerous. Does anyone feel better now?
