VILLAS — Lower Township Manager Jim Ridgway praised the township’s code enforcement officers Walter Fiore and Ed Donahue for their hard work and pro-active approach to violations from May 1 to Oct. 1.
The code enforcement office handled a total of 388 violations and 113 summonses over the five-month period.
According to the code enforcement report: officers issued 59 summonses for high grass and weeds, 32 summonses for trash and debris, seven summonses for stagnant pool water, and 15 summonses for miscellaneous violations. The number of warnings reported include: 63 warnings for high grass and weeds, 83 warnings issues for trash and debris, 21 warnings for obstructed views at corners, five warnings for stagnant pool water, eight warnings for dead trees on property, 18 warnings for inoperable vehicles, 15 warnings issued for trailer violations, 17 warnings issued for blocking a street or sidewalk, 45 warnings issued for miscellaneous violations.
In addition, the code enforcement office issued 248 summons to landlords for failure to obtain mercantile licenses for their rental properties in 2014 and is in the process of reviewing unlicensed rental properties for 2015.
