COURT HOUSE – Aug. 18: The County of Cape May Department of Health is reporting seven new positive cases among county residents and five new out-of-county positive cases that are included in the non-resident active cases listed below.
It is with great sadness that the county has to announce the passing of a 69-year-old male, from Lower Township. “In this sorrowful time, I would like to extend to the family my heartfelt condolences,” stated Cape May County Freeholder Director Gerald Thornton.
According to a release, New Jersey has 188,098 total COVID-19 positive cases and 14,086 deaths. Total positive cases of COVID-19 infection in Cape May County is now 1,048, including 84 deaths.

- Train their employees on all health and sanitization protocols
- Conduct employee health screenings
- Support contact tracing initiatives in the interest of public health
- Require employees with symptoms of COVID-19 to stay home
Customers pledge to:
- Stay home if they’re not feeling well
- Keep their distance (6 feet)
- Mask up
Employers pledge to:
- Provide appropriate PPE for employees’ jobs
- Provide sanitization materials, training, and time to practice safe hygiene as recommended by CDC
- Respect employees’ privacy if participating in contact tracing efforts and/or other health initiatives
- Administer staff health screenings that require employees stay home if sick
- Institute measures to clean high-touch common areas frequently

- Stay at home if they feel sick
