Governor Nominates Reichle, Twist to State Panels

TRENTON — Gov. Jon S. Corzine has named to local men to state boards that deal with the ocean and the fishing industry.
Jeff Reichle, of Cold Spring, was nominated for appointment to the New Jersey Coastal and Ocean Protection Council.
This council has been charged with advising the state Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) on protection and restoration of coastal and ocean resources and ecosystem-based management.
Reichle, owner of Lunds Fisheries and president of the Garden State Seafood Association, has been chosen as one of six public members on the nine-member panel. The council also includes the heads of the DEP, Economic Development Authority and Division of Travel and Tourism.
Corzine also nominated Oliver S. Twist III, of Belleplain, to the state Shell Fisheries Council.
That council helps to formulate comprehensive policies for the preservation and improvement of the shellfish industry and resource of the state. The council also studies the activities of the shellfisheries program; sets the terms and fees for leasing shellfish grounds ; and fixes the oyster boat license fees.
Twist is one of two Cape May County members on the 10-member panel, each of whom is a licensed and practicing shell-fisherman.
Corzine’s nominations are subject to the advice and consent of the state Senate.
