TRENTON -In recognition of the statewide winter storm, Governor Jon S. Corzine today announced that all State of New Jersey offices on Monday, March 2, 2009 will delay the start of business by two hours.
Governor Corzine directed employees of the State of New Jersey to report to their work stations two hours later than usual. Essential employees, however, are expected to report to their work stations as usual according to their proscribed schedules.
New Jersey’s transportation agencies will work overnight to maintain safe conditions on State, Interstate and toll roads. The New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT), New Jersey Turnpike Authority and South Jersey Transportation Authority are prepared to deploy over 2,600 trucks to salt and plow the roadways.
The State of New Jersey advises motorists to exercise caution while traveling during winter storm conditions. Motorists are advised to allot extra time to reach their destinations, avoid unnecessary trips, and to provide plows room to maneuver on the roadways.
In order to provide additional travel options during expected winter weather conditions, NJ TRANSIT will offer full systemwide cross-honoring on Monday, March 2, 2009. Customers holding any NJ TRANSIT ticket or pass will be able to use it on any mode-rail, bus or light rail.
