CREST HAVEN – In response to the severe economic impact the COVID-19 virus has had on Cape May County’s business community, freeholders appointed 15 members to the Cape May County Business Recovery Task Force April 28.
The following and the industries they represent were:
Allen Carter, Agriculture/Wineries; Ryan Krill, Breweries/Distilleries; Scott Turner, Campgrounds; Jeff Reichle, Commercial Fishing; Vicki Clark, County Chamber of Commerce; Freeholders Leonard Desiderio and Will Morey.
Also, Curtis Bashaw, Lodging; Kathy DiGugaliamo, Real Estate; Chris Bezaire, Real Estate; Joseph Orazi, Alternative; Joe Bogle, Retail; David Craig, Restaurants; Irv Hurd, Sightseeing/Party Boats; Casey Halverson, Technology.
In support of the task force will be Leslie Gimeno, County Planning; Joe Molineaux, consultant, and Diane Wieland, County Tourism and Public Information
The resolution creating the task force noted that the “pandemic has presented unprecedented conditions that have caused countries throughout the world to shut down its economies, resulting in the worst economic contraction in nearly a century.
“The economy in Cape May County has been similarly impacted, and it has caused great hardship and uncertainty to the seasonal and year-round businesses.”
The members will “assist the county with its economic response to the COVID-19 pandemic.”
