WILDWOOD CREST – The Borough of Wildwood Crest received a $121,000 insurance payment to cover wind damage done to the former library building on Ocean Avenue. The borough is considering using the money to repair a damaged wall and to install heating and air conditioning in the building. This development led to a discussion among commissioners about the building’s future. Commissioner Joyce Gould wants to demolish the building and construct a parking lot which she believes will generate income. Commissioner David Thompson and Mayor Don Cabrera disagree, citing other uses such as housing the Historical Society, shops and arts events.
