COURT HOUSE – The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has released a list of registered disinfectant products for use against SAR-COV-2, the coronavirus that causes COVID-19. The list contains 85 products that were qualified through the EPA’s Emerging Viral Pathogen Program.
The EPA advises that if the product directions provide different contact times or concentrations, the longest contact time or most concentrated solution should be used.
Labels of the products will not identify their presence on the qualified list. The manufactures submitted their products for EPA qualification, but their appearance on this list does not allow them to place claims about their qualification through the EPA program on their labels. In the event of an outbreak, companies with pre-approved products can only make off-label claims.
