SEA ISLE CITY – During the public comment at the Sea Isle City Council meeting May 12, a resident asked members and city administration about the nature of “various items” included in the nearly $6.5 million capital improvement bond ordinance that was approved.
“The amount of this bond is really large for just saying it’s for ‘various items.’ Could you please explain how this money will be spent?” asked Sea Isle City resident Ann Organ.
In response, City Administrator George Savastano said, “We are using these funds for many projects and equipment acquisition that have been approved by Committee as very important for us. These include a new trash truck, city-wide storm drainage, engineering services for pump installation, as well as services for the transformation of the old school building into a new community center, lagoon dredging, several new parking kiosks, and general public safety equipment.”
