DENNISVILLE – At the township meeting Oct. 25, Dennis Township committee members learned that the County Office of Emergency Management (OEM) is returning to its requirement that municipalities inform it of “large” gatherings.
The requirements are intended to enable the sheriff, police, prosecutor’s office and other staff in OEM’s operations to have advance word of their organization.
The practice was suspended because of the pandemic, but now is being revived for safety reasons.
While there was no definition of large gatherings given, Dennis has been enjoying great turnouts for its events, including, most recently, a Halloween-themed event that attracted hundreds.
