DENNISVILLE – At its Dec. 11 meeting, Dennis Township Committee approved, with no public comment, an ordinance that describes what types of waste disposal are improper in storm drains. The ordinance prohibits the spilling, dumping or disposal of materials other than stormwater in the municipal storm sewer system to protect public welfare and safety. Exceptions to the prohibition include irrigation water, residential car washing water and swimming pool discharge among several others.
The penalty is a fine not to exceed $200.
