Crest Set to Reopen Beach Boxes

Beach Boxes on the beach at Wildwood Crest.

By Shay Roddy

WILDWOOD CREST – According to Brian Cunniff, Wildwood Crest’s information officer, the borough will take over its beach box program from the City of Wildwood.
The boxes give beachgoers a place to store their chairs and other belongings. Crest had 148 boxes last year, and of those, all but 22 owners signed up to return this season, as of Cunniff’s report to borough commissioners March 11.
This year, Crest will add 52 boxes, with registration beginning March 23.
All registration is handled online, and the boxes cost $400 for the season.
