WILDWOOD CREST – Wildwood Crest borough officials introduced an ordinance May 1 “clarifying” the prohibition of marijuana. If recreational marijuana becomes legal in New Jersey, the borough is taking steps to keep marijuana off its streets. According to the ordinance, the “Board of Commissioners is of the opinion that there is no area within the borough which can safely house a business or enterprise or other activity engaged in manufacturing, selling, or distributing medical or recreational marijuana and/or the paraphernalia that facilitates the use of such marijuana.” The ordinance will be presented at the May 15 commissioners’ meeting.
