Coast Guard Crews Spruce Up Dellas Field

By Herald Staff

CAPE MAY — Coast Guard Petty Officer 2nd Class Roy Snyder, a food service specialist aboard the Coast Guard Cutter Finback, spent part of his day March 25 clearing overgrown brush from a fence behind Dellas Baseball Field near Cape May Elementary School.
He was just one of the crewmembers from Coast Guard Cutters Vigorous and Finback, homeported here, who volunteered to clean and update the field in time for Cape May’s Little League baseball teams.
The venture was part of the sea service’s commitment to give back to the community which so many members call home.
