WOODBINE — In response to Harry Scheeler’s story regarding the Carol Lynne Resorts, resort owner Carol Saduk offered the following response:
• As owners of Carol Lynn Resorts, we have not asked anyone to sign a new lease. Rather, we want the lessees to adhere to the terms of the lease that they did sign, in which they agreed to comply with rules of the campground and all government regulations.
• They are being asked only to sign that they received a copy of the revised rules of the lease, which we have every right to amend as we see fit.
• The lease clearly states that we are a campground and not a low cost housing project.
• The majority of lease holders are in complete support of the new rules and regulations, and to keep it a campground as it was designed.
• The new rule that is being objected to is only a simple registration, there is no fee.
• Darren Kirsch and his association signed the lease and now he is the one that wants to change it.
• The special relationship between the Mayor and Councilman Saduk is that they have worked together for over 19 years and have not raised the local purpose tax that entire time while bringing the new gym, library and fire truck as well as keeping State Police in Woodbine, to name a few.
• The proposed ordinance allowing residency will double the property taxes by making the over 600 campsite residents entitled to full services including sending children to school.
• The current ordinance has worked just fine for over 30 years, allowing full access campsites while not burdening the taxpayers.
