CAPE MAY – Cape May City Council will convene a town hall meeting at Convention Hall March 11, at 6 p.m., with the major issue for discussion being the proposed Public Safety Building.
For months, some members of council and various members of the public have urged the city to hold such a meeting on the proposed building.
The city is at a deadlock on a $15-million bond ordinance, unable to secure the four necessary votes on council to adopt the ordinance. It is likely that some form of referendum will be needed.
At the March 3 council meeting, Deputy Clerk Erin Burke said the agenda for the town hall meeting was being worked on but has not yet been set.
