Avalon Remembers Longtime Recreation Employee

By Press Release

AVALON – Several dozen Avalon officials and residents turned out for a special tree planting dedication at the Avalon Community Hall Sept. 26. A crepe myrtle tree was planted on the south side of the building in memory of longtime recreation employee Charles LeFevre who passed away earlier this year.
“This tree will always honor Charlie, a man who not only loved the Avalon Department of Recreation but also his entire community”, said Avalon Mayor Martin Pagliughi. “We are proud to have known Charlie and his impact on the Borough of Avalon will be felt for generators to come”.
Charlie and his wife Marcy moved to Avalon in 2002 where Charlie began a career with the Avalon Department of Recreation. He was involved in many of the children’s and social activities at Avalon Community Hall and he treated every resident and guest with common sense, calmness, and courtesy. He also served as an officer of the Avalon Lions Club and volunteered for the Avalon Historical Society. LeFevre passed away in January, 2014.
LeFevre is survived by his wife, Marcy, three sons, and eight grandchildren.
