Avalon Council Holds Reorganization Meeting

Avalon Reorganization

By Press Release

AVALON – The Avalon Borough Council held its formal reorganization meeting July 7.  Councilmembers John McCorristin, Dr. Nancy Hudanich, and James Deever were all sworn in to their respective four year terms on Borough Council by Avalon Mayor Martin Pagliughi.  All three were re-elected during the May 9 municipal election in the Borough.
“I want to personally congratulate John, Nancy, and Jim for earning the trust of the Avalon voters to serve them during the next four years”, Mayor Pagliughi said.  “They are an integral part of the entire team that works proactively and diligently on a daily basis to provide our residents with a safe, beautiful community to enjoy for many years to come”.
McCorristin was named President of the Avalon Borough Council during the official reorganization meeting, and Deever was named Vice President of Council.   It is customary in Avalon for the Vice President of Council to move up to the position of President the following year.  McCorristin will establish the agenda for Council meetings for the next year and chair those meetings; they are held on the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month at 4:00 p.m.
The Avalon Borough Council also includes Councilman Charles Covington and Councilman Richard Dean.
