AVALON – Plans for the new Surfside Park at 30th Street in Avalon moved closer to reality Oct. 10 when Borough Council awarded the construction contract for the almost $2.5-million project. The project is supported in large part through a $2-million county grant.
The project, initially conceived in 2016, saw bids run 20 percent higher than the much earlier engineering estimates. Borough officials said the more robust economy with higher levels of municipal projects around the county would be higher than projected two years ago.
The park will replace the aged playground and skateboard park that sits adjacent to the Boardwalk at 30th Street.
Cape May – Governor Murphy says he doesn't know anything about the drones and doesn't know what they are doing but he does know that they are not dangerous. Does anyone feel better now?
