Accreditation Assessors Invite Public Comment on Stone Harbor Police Department

STONE HARBOR – A team of assessors from the New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police (NJSACOP) will arrive April 17, 2016, to examine all aspects of the Stone Harbor Police Department’s policies and procedures, management, operations, and support services.  The team will verify that the Stone Harbor Police Department meets the best practices and accreditation standards.
As part of this final on-site assessment, employees and members of the general public are invited to provide comments to the assessment team.  They may do so by telephone or email.  The public may call 609-368-1455 April 18 between the hours of 9 a.m. and 11 a.m.  Email comments can be set to shpd@police.stone-harbor.nj.us.
Telephone comments are limited to 5 minutes and must address the agency’s ability to comply with the NJSACOP standards.  A copy of the standards is available for inspection through the borough website at http://stoneharbornj.org/departments/stone-harbor-public-safety/police/ or at the Stone Harbor Police Department, 9508 Second Avenue, Stone Harbor, NJ.  Please contact Stone Harbor Police administrative personnel at 609-368-1455 to arrange for a viewing of the standards.
Anyone wishing to offer written comments about the Stone Harbor Police Department’s ability to comply with the standards for accreditation is requested to email the Accreditation Program manager at hdelgago@njsacop.org or write to: New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police, Law Enforcement Accreditation Commission at 751 Route 73 North, Suite 12 Marlton, NJ 08053.
The Stone Harbor Police Department must comply with over 100 standards in order to achieve accredited status.
