VILLAS – Lower Township Council honored Lower Cape May Regional (LCMR) High School wrestlers Brock Zurawski and Chase Hansen for their achievements in the recent wrestling season.
Senior Zurawski, left with plaque, has been a Gateway tournament and EHT Christmas Tournament champion, as well as a two-time District 32 champion and a Region 8 champion.
Zurawski was the 10th LCMR wrestler to reach 100 wins, the third two-time state medalist and the third Caper Tiger wrestler to finish ranked in the top 15 in the country. He is the first Caper Tiger wrestler in school history to place at the Beast of the East Tournament, is a two-time Super 32 place finisher and was the first four-time state qualifier in school history.
Zurawski also earned a full athletic scholarship to Rider University, where he will be attending in the fall.
Hansen, right with plaque, a freshman, was the first freshman in history to be named a champion at the Gateway Tournament, EHT Christmas Tournament, and at the District 32 and Region 8 tournaments.
Hansen earned seventh place in the state in his weight class, and he tied the single-season record of 44 wins, with a record of 44-2.
