Get ready, get set, get cookies!

By On Deck Staff

Bring your favorite cookies to share as The Great Cookie Exchange returns to Cape May for its 14th year.
This highly anticipated community event, organized by The Center for Community Arts, will be held on Dec. 1 from 6-8 p.m. at the Cape May City Elementary School, 921 Lafayette St. in Cape May.
Santa arrives at the Great Cookie Exchange a little after 6 p.m., ushered through the festivities by June Willis and her caroling holiday elves.
Santa will be available through the evening for photographs at a small fee of $1. All the other activities at the event are entirely free.
Kids can roll out and decorate cookies for the Cookie Exchange Table, decorate baskets in which to take home the cookies of their choice, make and decorate holiday hats and holiday greeting cards.
A refreshment table provides milk and juice for the kids and coffee and tea for the grownups. Don’t forget to purchase your raffle tickets for a chance to win a child’s bicycle or wagon.
To make a donation of cookie dough for this event, call La Patisserie at 609-884-7107. For more information about the Great Cookie Exchange or to volunteer, call The Center for Community Arts at 609-884-7525.
