SEA ISLE CITY – Cape May County Prosecutor Jeffrey H. Sutherland and Sea Isle City Police Chief Thomas McQuillen have asked the public to stay clear of the scene of the Nov. 29 multi-alarm fire that injured two residents and a third, an elderly female, is unaccounted for at 29 54th Street.
The injured were transported to a hospital with burns and smoke inhalation.
According to a release, a joint investigation is being conducted at the scene of the blaze that began in late morning and then burned throughout the remainder of the day.
The fire began in the home and quickly enlarged to a multi-alarm conflagration that damaged homes on either side of the original dwelling.
Sutherland said that detectives from the County Prosecutor’s Office, Sea Isle City Police Department, and the Cape May County Fire Marshal’s Office were investigating the cause of the fire which had not been determined.
