VILLAS – Lower Township Police responded to the intersection of Bayshore and Fishing Creek Roads for a reported vehicle fire July 8 at approximately 9:08 a.m. Upon arrival, the vehicle, a 1990 Jeep Wrangler, was fully engulfed in flames.
Investigation revealed the driver had pulled over because the vehicle was smoking heavily from underneath. The driver stated that after he pulled over, his Jeep started to catch fire from what he believed was a loose fuel line.
The vehicle became fully engulfed before the arrival of Villas Fire Company, who extinguished the fire without further incident. No one was injured from the incident, and the vehicle was towed from the scene.
