Rio Garage Blaze Under Investigation

RIO GRANDE — Rio Grande firefighters and Middle Township police responded to a structure fire at 204 School House Lane July 11 at 1:57 a.m.
According to a report, the origin of the fire was inside a detached garage at the home of Joseph Toland.
Firefighters were able to contain the blaze to the garage, but adjacent woods, and an adjacent home, received damage from the heat of the fire.
The Cape May County Fire Marshal’s Office and Middle Township Major Crimes Unit were called to the scene to investigate the cause.
No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
