SEAVILLE– Firefighters from Seaville and Marmora along with the state forest fire service were called to the Echo Farm Campground on Route 9 for a brush fire Tuesday afternoon.
The fire started when a campground employee was backing up a Ford pickup truck to dump leaves and got stuck.
Forest Fire Service Section Fire warden Bill Love said the trucks exhaust catalytic converter came in contact with the compost pile which caused the ignition. The fire then extended to the truck which was destroyed in the fire.
The fire was reported to be under control thirty-five minutes after the initial dispatch.
The Upper Township Rescue Squad responded to the scene for a fire standby; no injures were reported.
