DIAS CREEK – A working structure fire was reported to Goshen Volunteer Fire Company at Hideaway Beach Condo Campground on Route 47 May 23 about 10:15 p.m.
According to Dennis Volunteer Fire Company’s Facebook page, a request was made for mutual aid from the Dennis Volunteer Fire Company.
When respondents arrived, they found a park-unit trailer fully involved, with fire extending to neighboring units.
Dennis volunteers provided manpower and water supply along with multiple other mutual aid departments.
After being released from the incident, a Dennis engine responded to Goshen’s firehouse to cover that district for the remainder of the call, in order to allow the previous cover truck from Ocean View Volunteer Fire Co. to respond to a working structure fire in Sea Isle City.
Dennis’ total commitment time for both the fire and cover assignment before clearing was approximately 2.5 hours.
The fire is under investigation by the Middle Township Police Department and the Cape May County Fire Marshal’s Office.
