WILDWOOD- At approximately 1:15 a.m. on June 16 a structure fire was reported near the vicinity of Oak Ave and the Boardwalk.
The blaze was reported on Morey’s Mariners Landing Pier in the vicinity of the Super Scooters and the Seal Flume rides on the north side of the pier.
The intense blaze was quickly brought under control and damage was limited to the two rides, according to a release from Morey’s Piers.
Police were called in for crowd control on the boardwalk, as the fire was on Mariner’s Landing with possible exposure to propane tanks.
At least 11 area fire departments responded to the alarm, and an investigation is underway to determine the cause, it stated.
Both Raging Waters and Ocean Oasis Waterparks will open June 16 at 10 a.m. as scheduled. Amusement rides on all three Piers will open June 16 at 12:30 p.m.
