Fire Extinguished at Whispering Woods Motel

GREEN CREEK — An accidental cooking fire in Unit 3, Whispering Woods Motel on Route 47 here, was reported to Middle Township police dispatcher at about 9:50 p.m. Sept. 20. It was declared under control by 10:06 p.m.
Units from Green Creek Volunteer Fire Company and Rio Grande Volunteer Fire Company were dispatched to the scene, with Rio Grande’s engines being placed on standby at Green Creek at about 9:55 p.m.
The Cape May County Fire Marshal’s Office was summoned to the scene about 10 p.m.
No further information was available.
