CAPE MAY – The Nature Center of Cape May has a lot to celebrate the weekend of May 21, and the people of Cape May are invited! Cape May Harbor is 100 years old, the nature center is 16 years old, their Native Plant Sale is 10 years old, and their beautiful Trucksess Welcome Center is five years old…that’s a lot of birthday cake!
Saturday, May 21, kicks off with NCCM’s 10th Annual Plant Sale at 10:00 a.m. with over 50 varieties of plants, including some never-before-offered specials to commemorate a decade of offering high quality, native plants. Go browse, talk to backyard habitat gardening experts and take home some hardy beauties that will transform your backyard to attract songbirds, butterflies and hummingbirds. The sale will continue through Sunday, May 22, at 3:00 p.m.
Saturday will also feature programs like “Aqua Trails’ Kayak Nature Tours” and “Harbor Safari,” both starting at 11:00 a.m. Celebrate on the harbor and look for special offers, door prizes, and other great party fun. Learn more by calling 609-898-8848.
In fact, you can celebrate NJ Audubon’s “Cape Maygration Festival” with an Open House all week, from Wednesday, May 18 through Tuesday, May 24, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. each day. This entire week the nature center is opening its doors to the people of Cape May and their familes. Explore exhibits, classrooms, gardens and the fantastic views from their third-story observation tower.
