CREST HAVEN – Cape May County Health Officer Kevin Thomas Friday, May 29 announced that the recreational bathing site in Beesley’s Point, Upper Township is clear to re-open for public use.
The department had closed it on May 28 after Recreational Back Bay water quality tests showed enterococcus bacteria counts ranging from 108 to 180 on May 26 and 27.
Recreational Back Bay water quality tests conducted by the County Health Department at the recreation bathing site in Beesley’s Point now show enterococcus bacteria counts within the acceptable limits; therefore, the recreational bathing site has been re-opened.
Through the Coastal Water Monitoring Program a total of fifty-nine (59) ocean and eight (8) Back Bay recreational sites are monitored weekly from May until September 7, 2009.
