AVALON — Construction crews continued to labor on a major rehabilitation of the borough’s water tower at 39th Street Thur., June 2.
The work should be completed shortly. The tower in early April was shrouded as work on the outside was completed.
The tower is being repaired and repainted to extend its service life. A similar project was conducted on the other tower in the north end of the community.
In early April, borough spokesman Scott Wahl indicated the project was expected to conclude in four to six weeks.
Meanwhile, an unrelated project being done by Cape May County, continues on the Avalon Canal Bridge. That span is being widened to make easier access at the borough’s main entrance from Avalon Boulevard onto Ocean Drive.
