CAPE MAY – City of Cape May and Cape May Environmental Commission issued the following bicycle safety tips for summer:
Share the road! Save fuel! Have more fun! Ride a bike!
With more visitors and friends joining us in Cape May, and with summer here (at least on the calendar), here are some very important bicycle safety tips.
Because we want everyone to enjoy Cape May safely:
– Ride bicycles in the street, on the right-hand side, with the traffic
– Obey all traffic laws, signs and signals
– Do not ride on sidewalks
– Ride at night – need lights!
– Use proper hand signals
– Yield to pedestrians
– Bicycles are permitted on Promenade between 4 a.m. and 10 a.m.
– Lock your bike if you stop to beach, eat or shop
– Anyone under the age of 17 must wear a helmet – all others, should!
